MUSICAL THEATRE UNIVERSITY is open to talented young people, grades 8-12, from throughout The Coachella Valley and Southern California. Admission is by audition. (Audition requirements are listed below).

Audition Requirements:
Musical Theatre:
Students must prepare One (1) Monologue and One (1) Vocal Selection
Monologue must be from a published source (no original material) and be no more than 1 1/2 minutes in length. Material should be appropriate for student's age and experience and can be either dramatic or comedic. Monologue must be memorized. The use of props or costumes is discouraged.
Vocal selection should be approximately 32 bars in length and can be either uptempo or ballad. Music from the Broadway repertoire is preferable. Student should provide sheet music for the audition and be able to explain their cuts and temp to the accompanist (provided). If a student cannot audition with sheet music, a CD accompaniment track (with no vocals on the track) would be the fall-back option.
